The village established a safe zone where in-person transactions can be made. It's at the Delton Fire Department and EMS facility at 45 Miller Drive in Lake Delton. There's a sign posted in the northwest parking lot that says "Internet Purchase Exchange Location."
Authorities say the location is monitored with video cameras and a constant public safety presence. http://www.wkow.com/story/30894602/2016/01/06/lake-delton-establishes-safe-zone-for-purchases-sales-made-via-sites-like-craigslist The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department in Emporia, Kansas has designated parking spaces in their lot for citizens to use to safely complete transactions that originated on sites like Craigslist. It’s called the “safe zone,” and Undersheriff John Koelsch describes the spaces as "well lighted and under video surveillance.” He adds that it is good for child custody exchanges, because “Emporia sits right on I-35 in the turnpike.”
